Remadie's Path: Nurturing Well-Being Through Learned Wisdom

M.R. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen

In the early days of marketing and sales for Remadie, after finalizing its development and preparing for launch, I reflected on a significant story from my past. This story took me back to my time studying under the wise Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, a revered figure who shared invaluable teachings through discourse and book publications in the US from 1971 until his passing on December 8, 1986.

In the early 1980s, Bawa, accompanied by a group of fellow Americans, predominantly college students, journeyed to Sri Lanka, a nation embroiled in civil conflict between the Tamil Tigers and the Sinhalese. During this period, Bawa assigned some members of the group the task of finding a 35mm camera in the nearby town. Despite their earnest search, they returned to Bawa without the camera, explaining that they had diligently followed his instructions. However, later that very same day, visitors arrived with the sought-after 35mm camera as a gift for Bawa. One of the students who had led the search, somewhat skeptical, questioned why they had been sent on the quest when Bawa could have foreseen the camera's arrival. Bawa's response held profound wisdom, emphasizing that their efforts were essential; without them, the camera might never have shown up.

This lesson from my past experience with Bawa and the 35mm camera guided me in the present. When it came to launching Remadie, I decided to offer samples to potential users, drawing from my belief that the best way to introduce Remadie is by allowing people to try it. Even though this approach met resistance from some, I remained undeterred and prepared over 200 samples for distribution. What became evident to me was the importance of hard work and trust in oneself to allow unforeseen and unknowable opportunities to unfold. My actions and persistent efforts can significantly impact the realization of my goals, albeit in ways I never could have imagined or dreamt of.
